Saved Honey Tastes Sweeter
Dear Friends,
Dear Friends,
When I was in college we bought 50 pounds of "Star Thistile" honey that was out of this world. Therefore I was pleasantly surprised when visiting our son Jimmy up in Eastern Washington that the local health food store had this unique variety.
Since my wife and I wanted to avoid the extra $20 baggage charge, we packed the honey and several other food items in our carry ons and proceeded to the airport. What were we thinking? The security, wanting to protect humanity from certain doom, told me that I could not carry that on the plain and would have to throw it away in the trash. Waaaaaah! They also told my wife she could not carry her items either. Waaaaaaah!
Seeing our utter despair they suggested we put it in a box and check it in with a smiling twenty dollar bill. I reached into the trash, rescued the honey from its impending fate, and checked the box through to Seattle and Los Angeles. It then made its way three weeks later to the Philippines where I really enjoyed it on some oatmeal this very morning.
Let me tell you, saved honey does taste sweeter. That is maybe why the Great God of the Universe is going to make His home with little old you and me for eternity. He wants to have breakfast everyday with the souls that He saved from the trash. Thank God who is able to save us from the guttermost of the uttermost. Till next week . . .
