"Be a Bright Color"

Dear Friends,

Well it is always good to hike on the Great Wall of China as it snakes its way up and down the mountains just outside of Beijing. Nearly 2000 kilometers or 1200 miles long, most of it is broken down now except where it is has been rebuilt as a part of the great heritage of China. The wall itself is constructed of dressed grey stone and is a great feat of human endurance and engineering. It was originally designed to keep the northern Mongol peoples out of the county and certainly provided an almost impregnable barrier to cross.

The cool breezes of Autumn filled the afternoon air and I happened to take this picture with my humble iphone camera. The splash of color which was soon to disappear, provided a welcome contrast to the muted dullness of the wall and the surrounding landscape. In my mind, this plant illustrates what Christians should be in a world clothed in the paleness of sin.

One time a person told me that when the day was dull they liked to dress in bright colors. Be a bright color for Jesus today. It will break down the walls that separate us from one another and gladden the hearts of fellow pilgrims. Till next week.
