Loosen the Laces
Dear Friends,
Lately both of my feet have been hurting. I thought it was old age, too many steps. It started with my golf shoes and quickly spread to all my shoes. The only relief I could get was to wear some old sandals that relieved the pressure. I liked how my feet felt but Diana did not like how the shoes looked.
Then last week I somehow got the idea that I would not tie my golf shoes so tight. I would normally pull at the strings hard to make sure my foot was bound in place. This time I just tied the shoe and did not cinch the laces. When I got up to walk I noticed instant relief. Huh. I guess over time I had tied the shoes tighter and tighter until they began to cry and I felt their pain. Now my feet feel better and I can wear my normal shoes again . . . though I still love my old sandals!
Lesson: Lossen The Laces. Overtime we can get pretty bound up with the pressures of life. Each day tightens its grip around us until we feel constricted and it is hard to function. Loosen the laces. Read the Bible. Talk to a Friend. Take a walk. Pray. Loosen the Laces. You might be surprised at how much better you feel as you walk the paths of life.
