The Stuck Front Door

Dear Friends,

For the last three years our front door was stuck and needed a gentle shove to swing it open. Age and weather had taken its toll and the heavy solid wood door just ain't what she used to be. A couple of times we
had asked carpenters to come over and shave the door but soon it was up to its old tricks. Hard to open, hard to shut.

I must say my wife and I at least getting a little free resistance-type exercise from the daily ordeal. Then in the last few weeks the door really dug in its heals and it became almost impossible to open or shut. When
my wife told me she used the back door to get in the house I knew enough was enough. It was war on that door.

I got a planer from the wood working shop here and I took the door down myself and shaved it to within an inch of its life. I went down and bought some longer wood screws to fasten it tightly against the door
jam. Matthew, one of the workers here, came over and we replaced a lock.

When all the work was done, the door opened with the greatest of ease and my wife and I were both so surprised and delighted. After opening the door with a grunt for 1000s of times, we could now open it
without effort. It was such a different feeling to what our imbedded memories were expecting that it is taking us awhile to get used to it.

Jesus, said, "I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will come in and eat with them" (Revelation 3:20). Has your heart door been stuck lately? Open the Bible. Take time to Pray.
You will not believe how good it feels to get that door working again.
