"Is this the way to Santa Rosa?"
Dear Friends,
"Is this the way to Santa Rosa?" I had now driven for nearly six hours from my home into Northern Luzon and was meeting up with a friend who would guide me to the place where I was to speak that weekend.
I had never been that way before, did not have a map but had been in constant contact with my friend regarding which way to go.
I had just made a left turn and stopped to ask man standing by the side of the road, "Is this the way to Santa Rosa?" Without saying a word he shook his head in the affirmative and waved me up the road.
After a few more minutes I called my friend but he really could not tell me for a certainty if I was on the right road. I stopped then and asked another person, "Is this the way to Santa Rosa?" They said yes
and waved me on my way.
A short while later I arrived in the small town of Victoria. I called my friend and found out that instead of driving towards him, I had been driving further away and had made a wrong turn somewhere back in the middle of the rice fields.
It took him nearly an hour to reach me so I would not get lost anymore. On the way there I managed to loose my patience, my cell phone and after nearly 10 hours of driving I finally arrived very late, very tired and very frustrated.
Despite the trials and tribulations in getting there, the Lord truly blessed my presentations on the Sabbath and I was able to drive back that evening in half the time it took me to get there.
"Is this the way to Santa Rosa?" Let's face it, we are all lost souls trying often to tell other lost souls where to go or how to live. We beckon them on their way only to find out that it has led them further and not closer to their life's destination.
Jesus is the only Way, the only Truth and the only Life. Maybe that's our job. Point people to Jesus. I know that He knows the Way and He never, ever got lost. Praise His name for that and now i know the way to Santa Rosa!
