"The Window Seat"

Dear Friends,

I shot this photo of Mt. Ranier while flying into Seattle and that is why I love sitting in the window seat while flying. There is always so much to see on the ground below where cars look like ants and you are able to view such wide vistas. The clouds below look soft and often hide the storm that is brewing deep inside its misty chambers.

The tall building or structure seems quite small now from above and it is always a delight to pick out landmarks as they float in and out of sight. Rivers, roads, small towns and empty spaces all progress beneath the comforts of 38,000 feet, an unfolding delight to the eye which often far surpasses whatever is being offered on the small video screen in the cabin.

I have often thought that from God's perspective we are all equally tiny. The microscopic differences we often magnify to distinguish ourselves from one another such as height, beauty, economic and educational status are really infinitely small when the Lord looks down from His throne. Yes, He must often wonder what all those little ants are doing anyway, often making such big distinctions out of absolutely nothing.

So the next time you judge somebody else, or even yourself, don't do it from ground level. Take a little flight of fancy in your mind and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.
